Ross
Estate
The
story of Ross Estate dates back to the end of the 19th century when
it was a general farm with vineyards and a cemetery. In that
cemetery lies William Jacob who, with his brother John, in 1885
established the Barossa Valley’s first vineyard and
winery.
Current owners, Darius and Pauline Ross, fell in love with the 110
acre property in the early 90’s and invested in their life long
passion for wine. Together, after years of hard work, they have
created a splendid estate. Darius designed the Polish inspired
winery and cellar door, surrounded by lawns and rose
gardens.
With extensive knowledge from former winemaker Rod Chapman, current
senior winemaker Neville Falkenberg, of Penfold’s fame, and budding
young winemaker Alex Peel, Ross Estate Wines has set the benchmark
for boutique winemaking and continually producing award-winning
wines of outstanding and consistent quality.
Ross
Estate Beekeeper's Blend 2010
The
wine is a late harvest, medium-sweet style with a bright straw
colour and attractive green tinges. The aroma is full of lime juice
and apricots, with nuances of lemon zest and white peach and some
tropical notes. On the palate, the initial sweetness is carried by
tropical fruits, lemons, peach and pear flavours. The acidity of the
wine balances this sweetness, giving it a crisp finish that makes
this wine an excellent match to many foods. With time the wine will
develop honey and buttered toast characters. Ideal to enjoy with
friends anytime and a great complement to spicy Asian dishes,
cheese platters or your favorite dessert.

traditional Barossa Valley style of wine.
