Bulong
Estate
The spectacular mountains of the Yarra
Ranges form the backdrop of our beautiful vineyard located in the
Upper Yarra Valley, an area recognised as being one of the
best in the Yarra Valley for the production of high quality cool
climate grapes.
Since 1995 Bulong Estate has been growing
grapes here and our family-owned and run estate has been dedicated
to making Estate wine since 2002.
Bulong
Estate Cabernet Sauvignon 2010
Violets and a slight leafiness on the nose
while the palate is complex with brambles, cedar and dusty tannins
dominating. Like the merlot, clean acid provides the frame work. it
is best suited to immediate consumption of short term
cellaring.
Bulong
Estate Cabernet Franc 2008
Violets and a slight leafiness on the nose
while the palate is complex with brambles, cedar and dusty tannins
dominating. Like the merlot, clean acid provides the frame work. it
is best suited to immediate consumption of short term
cellaring.
Bulong
Estate Sauvignon Blanc 2010
This wine has a very similar profile to
the award winning 2010 wine. The nose has lifted aromas of
passionfruit and cut grass while the palate has tropical fruit and
citrus. The season was late, however the fruit retained a high
level of natural acidity which carries through into the wines
finish. As with all our Sauvignon Blanc wines it is best enjoyed
while young and fresh.
Bulong
Estate Merlot 2005
Heavy
summer rain followed by a warm Autumn ensured ideal ripening
conditions and the fruit was picked in the middle of April. The
resulting wine has a lovely bright colour with lovely plum and
cherry flavours, highlighted with spicy oak from maturation in
French oak barriques. It can be enjoyed with a wide range of food
and ideally suited to red meats. Short to medium term cellaring
will enhancing its complexity.
Bulong
Estate Pinot Gris 2010
Fruit from our oldest, low yielding, pinot
Gris vines was harvested by hand in the first week of March when
the flavours were at their peak. The 2010 Pinot Gris displays
elegant rose petals and musk on the nose while the palate is full
bodied and abounds with pear fruit and melon characters.
Partial barrel fermentation and lees contact has added extra
complexity and richness to the palate. This is an excellent
food wine well suited to fish, poultry and Asian
dishes.
Bulong
Estate Pinot Noir 2010
The
2008 season featured very warm days and cold nights. This resulted
in rich, ripe Pinot Noir fruit with a strong natural acid backbone.
The resulting wine displays classical varietal characters of
cherries, violets and blackcurrents. It finishes long with a subtle
and well integrated background of fine French oak. This wine is
suited to a wide range of cuisines, especially pasta dishes and
roast duck
