Arundel
Arundel
was built around an acre of cabernet and shiraz, planted in the
1970's but abandoned. When the Conwell family purchased the
property in the early 1990's, the vineyard was resurrected and the
first vintage was made by Rick Kinzbrunner in '95. Thereafter the
cabernet was grafted over to shiraz, the block slowly increased to
1.6 ha, and an additional 4 ha of shiraz and 1.6 ha of viognier and
mersanne was planted.
Arundel
Shiraz 2006
Strong
purple-crimson in colour. The wine features spicy licorice and
blackberry notes, set off by a touch of pepper. Rated 90 by James
Halliday, this wine is delicious now but will continue to develop
with cellaring. For optimum drinking, crack open in
2016.
