Celestial Bay is situated in Wilyabrup of the Margaret River region located on Metricup Road 2km west from the Bussell Highway. Originally a dairy farm, Celestial Bay comprises 52 hectares that feature all the necessary characteristics for successful viticulture- good soil, a moderate maritime climate and a reliable rainfall. Inspired by a fierce passion for winemaking, perfectionists Michael and Kim O’Brien purchased the land in 1999with the goal to produce exclusive, boutique wines of outstanding quality.

 In the vineyard, grapes are grown in a mixture of red brown alluvial loam, gravelly loam and mungite soils. Climatically, the proximity of the Indian Ocean creates a unique maritime environment that eliminates temperature extremes throughout the summer, facilitating full flavour ripening of the fruit.

The name Celestial Bay is derived from the indigenous meaning of Metricup, the road on which the winery is located. For the local aborigines, metricup means ‘a place where ghosts dwell.’ From this, Celestial Bay was born; a synergy of earth, moon, sun and water.

Celestial Bay Cabernet Merlot 2005

A mixture of dark berry fruits and delicious vanilla oak aromas, this Cabernet Merlot is clean, alive and nicely rounded.  It has attractive and vibrant plummy flavours, a silky smooth texture and finishes with chalky tannins.

Celestial Bay Chardonnay 2007

Deep to mid-straw in colour, this chardonnay features enticing aromas of honeydew melon and ripe peach followed by hints of rich vanilla oak. On the palate, flavours of ripe melon and grapefruit give way to subtle oak; promoting good mouth feel and a dry finish. An elegant and easy to drink wine.

Celestial Bay Semillon Sauvignon Blanc 2007

Mid straw colour with hints of grey.  Ripe fig and kiwi fruit aromas meet the nose, delicate and fresh. The palate reflects the nose, soft mouth filling tropical fruit flavours with hints of citrus. Refreshing and enticing, this Semillon Sauvignon Blanc has lively tropical and citrus fruit flavours which will dance straight from your glass.

Celestial Bay Shiraz 2005

Deep red with purple hues, this is a medium-bodied dry red wine which is very easy drinking. It is a summer style red with a bouquet of freshly-ground pepper, laced with black currant. Perfect with strong-flavoured meat dishes and ripe quality cheeses like Roquefort.
